Ujaval got his Masters in Geospatial Information Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. He joined Google Inc. in 2005 as one of the early employees of the mapping group. He spent 15 years working on various projects at Google including leading Google's GIS teams in India. He started his company Spatial Thoughts in 2019 and now offers a wide range of training programs to address the learning needs of geospatial professionals.
We are going to deep dive into some more advanced topics so that you can level up your QGIS skills! QGIS comes with a powerful expression engine that enables a range of advanced capabilities. In this talk, Ujaval will show how to use built-in QGIS functions such as aggregate(), array_foreach() and eval() to automate spatial analysis with just expressions - no Python code or special plugins required!
We will take an example application of applying Spatial Homogeneity Test on rainfall data. This is a complex test used in hydrological applications that requires one to find neighboring stations using a set of spatial rules and then apply a series of statistical tests to determine if the measurement is valid. We will implement this test using QGIS expression and automate the workflow using Processing Modeler.
